2. Step 2: Validate PAN and Aadhaar cards

   You will receive a one-time password (OTP) on the mobile number that is linked to the Aadhaar card. The OTP is sent to validate your PAN and Aadhaar cards.

   Once you do that, the DP will ask for your bank details, address and the brokerage plan you need.

   The webpage will then prompt you to upload document proofs. This may include a passport-sized photo, an ID proof, address proof and so on.

   Step 3: Verification process

   The last step is the in-person verification. Previously, a DP representative would physically visit and verify your documents before opening an account. But, thanks to technology, DPs now conduct the verification process through a video session.

   Once the verification process is complete, click on the ‘e-sign’ button. You will then receive a one-time password (OTP) on your registered mobile number. After you key in the OTP correctly, your e-sign will be affixed and the e-KYC process will be completed.

   You will then receive a unique client code. This code will help you sign in to your  account online. After that, the world of shares and securities is your oyster.
